Oghi Tehsil is a sub-district (Tehsil) of Mansehra District in the North West Frontier Province of Pakistan. The Tehsil takes its name from the main city of the area, Oghi.

Most of the area is arid or barani (rain fed) and about 85% of the people are involved in the agricultural sector. People have to rely on a good rainy season for a high-quality crop yield. The region is also devoid of natural gas, and people use timber as source of fuel for cooking and other purposes.

Oghi City
The town of Oghi is the market centre of the area, and is located in the western part of the tehsil. The original name of Oghi is AGROR Valley, but because the town Oghi is so close to the city centre and Oghi being a 1,000 year old town. The whole area is now known as Oghi. The largest towns of the Oghi Tehsil are:
Oghi town which is very close to the centre of the valley and whose name is now being used for the whole Valley, instead of the actual name "AGROR Valley". Oghi town itself was a little town but coz of the merging towns close to it made it way bigger now then all the other towns in the area.
Shamdara is probably the oldest town of the whole district as you can still find symbols of history there and still is a big town.
Kathai. Kathai is in a valley among the beautiful mountains. The people of Kathai are religious and rich. Kathai is the rich valley in the Mansehra. Most people of Kathai work abroad.

It Is the Village of Yousafzai/Akhundkhail Pukhtoons, They are well known for still following their pukhtoon culture. People of manchora are very simple and straight forward.Several families of Manchora are well educated and serving on very respectable position in Pakistan and abroad. Zaheer ud din (baba Saib), a person from koza banda (Battagram) migrated there because of his land. Popular rivers Unnar and Sheen Dand (Alakano Dand) is also passing through land of Manchora. Oghi Collage is also in the Land of Manchora. Manchora a Hindko Word, MAN stand for Heart (ZRA) and Chora Stand for Thieve (ghala), mean the thieve of Hearts (Da Zarnoo Ghal).

Dehran is one of the most beautiful villages of the valley. Most of the dwellers of the village are hardworking farmers. The new generation is highly qualified people. Most of the youngester are University students. Besides that, this village also has a good name in sports,especially cricket.There are very talented people in this village.Some of them are formers having small pieces of cultivated lands.
Village Bajna is the most educated village of the tehsil Oghi. There are many doctors, engineers and geologists in Bajna providing a leading role for all the other areas. The Qazi family is very popular in this territory, like Qazi Mushtaq Ahmad, Dr Qazi Nazeer and Justice (R) Muhammad Raza Khan, Former Chief Justice of NWFP.
Village Bazargay is located close to Oghi Bazar. Haji Habiu ur Rehman is the president of the youth social welfare society and well known personality of Oghi. Haji Safe ur Rehman who is the cousin of Haji habib rehman is the popular personality of Bazargy ex-president of Oghi Bazar. Bazargay is a well known town in Tehsil Oghi and nearly 70% of the population is highly educated. It is almost the centre of Tehsil Oghi and plays an important role in the politics of Oghi. Haji Habib ur rehman who has also remained the president of EWAN E TIJARAT Oghi for 14 years has played an important role to give Oghi a Tehsil status. There are different ethnic groups in Bazargay including Awan, Madahail, Sawati, Tanoli, etc. Awan are highly educated in bazargay, there are many doctors, petroleum engineers, geologists, archaeologists and members are there families pursuing higher education abroad (Australia, UK, Abu dubai).
Village Dharra is located on Mansehra road, about 3.5 km from Oghi city. Dharra has two primary Schools for Boy and Girls and a HAWA Community Center. In 1868, the British built the Oghi Frontier Constabulary Fort in the town.
Dilbori The Village Dilbori is at the corner of Tehsil Oghi, It is a historic village and the birthplace of historic personalities, like Allah Dad Khan, Khan of Dilbori and founder of Dilbori. The village is famous for its fertile land and hard working people.

is an historical village located in Union Council Dilbori. Mr.(Late) Ghulam Haqiq Khan Khan of Peerpatta (formerly Khan of Shahtot) introduce this village. Actually he was the only landlord here. He has five sons and five daughters. Named Mr. Gul Munawar khan, Mr. (R)capt: Mohammad Iqbal Khan, Mohammad Ayub Khan, Shoukat Ali Khan and Shad Mohammad Khan. Pirpatta is located on the boundary of District Mansehra and District Battagram. It is very important village of tehsil Oghi. Most of the people are honest and living like one family. It represent the old culture of Agror velly. Mostly people are hard workers and religious. But it is a pity that still no primary school established in this village. The poor villager get their basic education in Mosque government school. For higher study the young children of the village go to Dilbori and Oghi city. There is no playing ground for the villagera. Bagrian has a literacy rate near about 90%; most people belong to education department and tabligh and also they are famous because of agriculture and village its name Gali Badral, i.e. Street of Badral. Similar to Kanshian, the main rain-fed crops of the area are maize (kharif), and wheat (rabi). Pears and apples are also cultivated. There is thin forest cover above the main hamlet of the village. People use drinking water from springs and indoor taps. Pipe gas is not available however most of the households have electricity supply. Gali Badral is linked to Oghi City through a metalled road, one way is about 35 minutes. There is one primary school for girls and one primary and a high school for boys. Apart from these, a private English medium school with co-education is located in the village. Also in Gali Badral, the inhabitants’ main sources of cash income are remittances and non-farm labour. Other remunerated activities include dairy farming, salaried jobs, and trading.
Shergarh is one of the Union Councils of the Tehsil Oghi. It plays an important role in area politics. The most famous political member of Shergarh is Nawab Zada Salahudin Saeed, five times elected as the member of the National Assembly.
Shergarh is also the Historical place. It presents a lot of the historical events and traditions that have passed away. Before the partition of the subcontinent, both Hindus and Muslims were living with each other and after partition the Hindus migrated to India. There one can also see the influence of the Hindus traditions and culture.
Shergarh Fort, Summer residence, Nawab of AmbShergarh is famous for the most intellectual and highly qualified people of the area. The literacy rate of the region is 100 percent. There is one Higher Secondary School in the main Shergarh village. There are many private and semi governments school in the region, playing an important role in the literacy of the region.
Bajna is located approximately 3.5 kilometers on Oghi Darband Road from the main bazaar of Oghi. A scenic location and beautiful mountainous landscape attributes to the strong hospitable character of the people of this area. Village Bajna is one of the most educated villages of Tehsil Oghi. Many renowned Professionals like Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers, Forest officers and Geologists hail from village Bajna, thereby providing a leading example for the populace of the area. Amongst the prominent families of this region are the Samadyans, notable elders of the family are Qazi Mushtaq Ahmad, Col (R) Dr.Nazir Ahmad Qazi and Justice (R) Muhammad Raza Khan, Former Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court,Professor Ashfaq Ahmed, waqar Ahmed.
Kangarh is a strategically important village of the Tanaval Valley. It is usually known as Kangarh Mera, Mera being the twin village just opposite to Kangarh. It is a strategic location as it lies in the juncture from where the main road from Oghi divides into two, one going to Darband while the other to Krori. Inhabitants of the village are Pakhtun warriors belonging to the Akazai Clan of the Yousufzai tribe. The Akazais were active in fighting against the British. The inhabitants of current day Kangarh are originally from Kala Dhaka. The current leader of the Akazai Clan of the Kangarh Village is His Highness Khan e Azam Khan Haji Aqil Abdul Razzaq Khan Akazai, son of His Highness Khan e Azam Khan Haji Abdul Razzaq Khan Akazai, and nephew of the well known capitalist Khan e Azam Khan Shehzada Saleem aka Seth Sahab.
Maloga is the third largest town of Oghi tehsil, with a population of over 1,000 families. It is in the southern part of the tehsil. It has two mosques, two government-funded primary schools, several private educational institutions and two Madrasahs, of which one is for girls.
Historically Maloga was a destination for people of different ethnic backgrounds, and it still has a large proportion of people of multi-ethnic background. Tribes of Maloga include Keninth, Qureshis, Munshis(yousef zai), Swatis and a small population other costs. Among Agror Maloga is famous for highly qualified people and its open-minded attitude toward education of girls and boys from primary to higher and equal opportunities from both the genders.[citation needed]
Arbora is one of the largest towns of Oghi tehsil, with a population of over 500 families. It is in the southern part of the tehsil. It has two mosques, one government middle school, two government funded primary schools, one private educational institution and one Madrasahs.

Tribes of Arbora include Tanolis, Awans and Pathans. Rashida is a village of tehsil Oghi. It is one km from main bazaar at Batgram road. It consists of nearly 500 families. Government high school was built in 1957. F C cheak post is also very close to village Rashida. Football is the favorite game of the village. Sajjad Shaheed football club is the most famous team of tehsil. An Islamic scholar mufti Hafeez ur Rehman is the resident of Rashida.

Seri Village
Seri village is a remote village of Oghi tehsil. It consists of various families, like Hasanzai, Chagharzai, Gujar and Akazai. The Akazai family(thasan khil and barth khil) hold onto the village.Ferdos akazai and Saleem Akazai ex councillers. There are two primary schools. In village Safaida Mian family has the total hold. UC Karori
.UC Karori having pivotal position in Upper Tanawal (tehsil Oghi), best forest of the Hazara region are situated in that UC, on the top of forest there is famous Ziarat called Serri wala Baba in the summer season people from different part of the area visit that place through hiking. Dr. Muhammad Saddique is the Nazim and social and political worker of the area, other social worker are Zain-ul-Abidin (Sociologist), Muhamamd Ayaz (P.HD in Chemistry) Khawaj Muhammad Tanoli (ex Tehsil Nazim) Munishi Muhammad Aslam, Muhammad Shafiq (Retired from PAF) and Master Muhammad Rafique.
